“Lauren Busheikin is the kind of performer who takes you by surprise. Her demeanor is humble and unassuming but her talent is nothing short of jaw dropping. She sings with heart and soul, and delivers a memorable performance that holds an audience from start to finish. She is well worth going out to see!”
-Rhea March, Founder – U22 Music Productions
“…Edmonton’s Lauren Busheikin has brought a surprisingly complicated, eclectic approach to creating and performing the all-original tunes on her debut CD, We Love. … Her vocal style covers a lot of territory too, with a seemingly effortless sound that draws you in, while the arrangements touch on jazz, folk and pop.”
-Roger Levesque – Edmonton Journal

Growing up in Calgary, Alberta, Lauren Busheikin began performing at an early age as a member of The Young Canadians of the Calgary Stampede. For eleven years, Lauren trained as a singer and dancer and performed yearly at the Stampede’s famous Grandstand Show.
At age fourteen, Lauren began taking private singing lessons, focusing on classical and operatic music. She continued to sing classical music but also branched out into more contemporary music during her high school years.
After completing her two-year diploma program in music at Grant MacEwan University, Lauren took an additional year of studies focusing on composition and songwriting. Upon graduating, Lauren began performing around Edmonton as a jazz singer.
Now, she is very excited to have just released We Love, her debut album. The album contains nine original songs written by Lauren and produced by Russell Broom. Songs off this album have received airplay on both CKUA Radio (Alberta) and The Key of A on CBC Radio One. Two of the songs off the album were selected for the 2009 and 2011 Calgary Folk Festival Songwriting Contests.
Though Lauren’s career is just beginning, she is already making her mark on the Canadian independent music scene. She is certainly an act you won’t want to miss!
